about
FOCI's Original Content serves as a collection of songs that gives the listener a taste of poignant lyrical content, (the way to incarcerate ones mind/ is by having them focus on that of what they can't control or find - Dairy Products) while being surrounded by entrancing sounds-capes from an array of producers (Abstrakt Soundz, J Listed, Gus Beats). Even though Original Content is essentially the prequel to the FULL LENGTH effort between Foci & Diverse (Young Buck, Bishop Lamont, Stat Quo, Murs) it still remains to focus on being true to its title, uniquely original in it's content.
From the voice of Charlie Chaplin's first speaking role in, "The Great Dictator" sampled throughout, it helps set the tone for the albums overall direction. FOCI delivers lines such as "I'm not on poppin' glocks and servin' rocks rap/i'm on stocks on bonds invested to buy train tracks - Creme De La Creme" to Local Support "utilize a forum to allow our minds to speak/ biting was illegal now illegal is unique?" There is no shortage of lyricism, wordplay, and references to many of the current issues of today. With all the material contained within Original Content, FOCI remains responsible and informative to the youth while serving the adult listener a sound that is relevant to the working class lifestyle.
